Why Does My Reverse Camera Keep Cutting In and Out?
A reverse camera that keeps cutting in and out can be frustrating because the image may appear normally when reverse is selected, then flicker, go black or disappear altogether. The fault may only happen occasionally, which can make the camera seem fine during a quick check even though the problem keeps returning in normal use.
Intermittent camera faults can come from the camera itself, but they can also be caused by the wiring, power supply, earth or connection between the camera and display. If the problem changes when the vehicle moves, the tailgate opens or closes, or the weather changes, an intermittent electrical fault may be affecting the camera circuit rather than the camera unit alone.
